Emma Bonino is considered by many to be a woman capable of stirring up the many consciences of civil society. After being elected in the 70s and 80s of the twentieth century for various legislatures deputy to the Chamber and the European Parliament, she held the position of European Commissioner from 1995 to 1999, and then in 2006 was Minister of International Trade and European policies in the Prodi government II, Vice President of the Senate of the Republic from 6 May 2008 to 15 March 2013, and subsequently Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Letta Government.
